Recent rides...

Boy, did you miss a GREAT time this past Sunday!!!  We had 16 bikes and 23 people to ride Sunday afternoon.  Man, the Lord is truly blessing our group.  It is amazing that this group started a year ago with 3 people and 2 bikes and a vision to have an opportunity to get together with other brothers and sisters and ride!!!
This past Sunday, we enjoyed a ride down the other side of Rock Hill.  Kinda had a detour to Sagebrush Steakhouse for lunch when the restaurant we had planned on going to couldn't really accommodate 23 people!!!  Enjoyed some good fellowship and then returned to Concord.  We had 7 new people who had not ridden with us before so we were glad to have them join us.  Would you like to ride???  We would love to have you!  Here are some dates of future rides that we have planned...
September 6 th Quinn Witherspoon Memorial Ride
September 13 th (Saturday) This will be our regular ride for the month of September.  We are going to ride to Boone to eat at the Daniel Boone Inn.  We will leave the church at 10:00 am and will eat about 3:00 that afternoon then return home that evening.  I am sure there will be some who still will ride Sunday afternoon but this Saturday ride will take the place of our normal 2nd Sunday of the month ride.
October 3 thru 5 - Pigeon Forge, TN for Smoky Mtn Bike Weekend and to ride the Dragon.  Interested in joining us??  Email Dennis and Cyndi Falls at dennisfalls@netzero.net.
We hope you will join us on our future rides.  Until next time, may God keep the road before you safe, keep your bikes free from mechanical failure and may He place someone in your path for you to be a witness to for Him.
Ridin for His Glory!!!

WOW!!  What a great time we had today on our bike trip to Station's Inn!!  We enjoyed an all day ride which started out with breakfast at Golden Corral in Concord.  Our first "detour" of the day was to find a helmet for Penny Suggs as her helmet went with Penny's car when her mom left with the children.  Thanks go out to Jeff Cochran's friend who lived close by and loaned Penny a helmet for the day.  I guess we will have to assign Penny a "keeper" for future rides to ensure she has her helmet ready for the ride since this is her 2nd "helmet-less" encounter...any volunteers??? We love you Penny!!!
We traveled from Concord to Rt 3, Rt 115 and on to Rt 18 which took us through Kannapolis, Troutman, Statesville and to our destination in Laurels Park, NC ending at the Station's Inn for lunch.  Even though we had a brief rain storm about 5 minutes before reaching our destination, we enjoyed great fellowship, food, beautiful views and countryside throughout our ride.  Lunch was fantastic and gave us an opportunity to dry out from our rain shower while waiting out the rest of the storm inside and dry!!!
As you have probably noticed by now, we are taking every opportunity to ride when the weather cooperates.  If you would like to ride on a certain day or to a certain destination...please feel free to plan that ride.  Let us know when and where and we will post the information on the website for all who can to join in the fun.  I know we are all very busy and will not always be able to ride.
Don't forget our "set" ride is the 2nd Sunday of each month.  Please invite others that you know who ride to come and join us.  This motorcycle group is NOT just for those who attend our church.  We encourage ANYONE who wants to ride with us to come and join us ANYTIME!!!  Speaking of rides, please go ahead and put the date of September 6th on your calendars.  We will be participating in the Quinn Witherspoon Memorial Fund Ride on this date.  Quinn was a Concord police officer who was shot and killed by his wife.  This ride has become an annual ride and the money raised is used to benefit the children of police officers in our community whose parents are injured or killed while protecting the rest of us.  Our own Phil Carlton is a part of the planning for this ride.  We will post more details on this ride at a later date.
Until next time...may God keep your bike free from failure, the road beneath you safe and put someone in your ride for you to witness to.
Ridin' for Him and love to you all!

P.S.-A great big thanks to Jeff Cochran for being our tour guide for today's ride.  We are glad to have had him (and his knowledge of where we were going) or we would probably STILL be looking for Station's Inn.
